This is done by the service providers to protect their own business. They try to force users to continue subscribing to their service. With such a limitation:-

If the user moves from one state/country to another state/country he cannot use the option of taking a local SIM for temporary use and ends up paying high roaming charges.

In another scenario, the user may grow dissatisfied with the quality of the service and/ or the rates of the service provider. But in order to change the service provider he/ she has to give up the phone.

Several GSM phones are dedicatedly built for specific service providers. So a person may land up in a situation, where he/she wants to use a certain phone but not the network provider that comes bundled with it. In such a case he/she has to make a compromise either by subscribing to the unwanted service provider or buying some other phone.

But then there is a key for every lock and a crack for every code. So if you are a victim of any of the above situations, you need not worry as locked cell phones can be unlocked. In fact we have at our disposal several services, many of them available online, which offer to unlock just about any phone for a small fee. Many such sites also sell unlocked phones which you can use with any service provider that suits you and change them according to your wishes.

Currently almost all models from every brand of GSM mobile phone can be unlocked. This is usually done in two different ways:-

Some phones can be unlocked by feeding into them a secret code. This code is usually unique to the phone and based upon its IMEI number and the service provider that locked it. You can buy these secret codes for a small price and just key it into your cell phone and presto! It will be immediately ready for use with any service provider. But do remember to keep your secret code properly because certain service providers may remotely lock your phone in future and then you will need the key again.

Some phones are programmed to work only with a certain service provider. In such cases the phone’s operating system software needs to be reprogrammed to unlock it. The easiest way out is to go and buy an unlocked phone!

Sony Ericsson Z710 is a quad band unlocked phone which announced in 2006, 2Q with network GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900. It has a weight of 101 grams. The display type and size of Sony Ericsson Z710 is TFT 256K colors, 176 x 220 pixels

The sound quailty of the Sony Ericsson z710 seems very natural better than the w600 and w810. Actually so far.. I think the w300 is the most natural sounding one of them. Both this z710 and the k790 have a separate media player. The normal walkman/music application usually in the 6 position of the main menu, but the new interface does not support music. But instead you have to go to the Games menu and the 2nd option is a Video Player.

Sony Ericsson Z710 is available in Twilight Black or Metallic Sand, the Sony Ericsson Sony Ericsson Z710 is a fully specified mid-range clamshell phone. The Z710i is almost the same as the Z610i, except that, confusingly, the Z610i also has 3G.
